The Character Ed mascot made his first official appearance during the Chamber's Good Morning, Springfield! on July 6 in downtown's Park Central Square.
During the initiative's first year, Character Ed was only visible on posters, window clings, marquees and street banners. Now, there is a living, breathing Character Ed mascot. Chamber president Jim Anderson announced that Ed is available to make appearances at community events and by request from partner organizations to enhance their character-related activities. To learn more about volunteering to wear the mascot, or requesting an appearance, visit the Character Ed Mascot section of this website.
