National Progressive Taekwondo Association

The NPTA has been a partner in the Character Ed program for more than a year, as it incorporates the attributes that are already being taught as part of our professional martial arts training. The tenets of Taekwondo have always been:

   1) Courtesy

   2) Integrity

   3) Perseverance

   4) Self Control

   5) Indomitable Spirit

   6) Victory

The NPTA has made it a mission to instill appropriate character traits into individual students to create quality community leaders. Goal setting and conflict resolution ability is enhanced by a program that combines physical fitness and character education curriculum.  With over 200 members and continuing to grow, the NPTA is active in the community and during 2006 has participated in:

   1) The United Way Day of Caring

   2) School Supply Drive

   3) Public Demonstrations

   4) National Martial Arts Day (Character Ed Appeared)

   5) Many volunteer hours for various community organizations
