Sunrise Rotary

After spending time each month focusing on the designated Character Ed word, some fifth and sixth graders at Wilson's Creek School wrote:  "Character Ed has made me a better person," and "Character Ed has taught me to make wise decisions and to be a better friend."
These comments were contained in Thank You cards prepared by the students for fifteen Sunrise Rotarians.  Sunrise Rotary adopted the new school this year for purposes of character education.  Rotarians had the same class every month, which allowed the students to bond with the volunteers during the course of the school year.

Karyn Phillips, Principal, and Linda Tasset, Counselor, expressed their gratitude to the Rotary volunteers. The educators indicated that focusing on the character words was extemely beneficial to the students, but equally beneficial was having business men and women in each classroom on the regular basis.  The educators noted the Rotarians improved the character traits of the students and were positive role models for them.  The Rotarians enjoyed the experience so much that they plan to adopt Wilson's Creek School again next year.
